Dustin Heit


Dustin Heit was born on September 7, 1990.   As a native of the Gitxsan tribe of Kispiox, Kuldo wolf clan his father Charles Heit began teaching him how to draw and paint at four years old.   He first began carving where he completed a soapberry spoon.   Dustin Grandfather Chief Walter Harris and his father Charles Heit always inspired him to carve and work with indian art.   By age eight Dustin bergen carving argalite. His first work was a salmon egg.   At age 13, Dustin tried working with silver carvings.   This didn't really work out for him and now sticks to wood carvings and main preference, painting.   Most recently he began carving soapberry spoons made out of moose ribs.
